Ok, here's one has anyone broken the table off the pedestal stand and what was the remedy?

Chris is correct.

It's likely on the same circuit breaker that the rest of your nav
instruments are on.  

You'll know it when you turn on the breaker and the autopilot does a short
steering correction (assuming you have a wheel pilot).

If the AP display is still not on and all the breakers are on, then you
might want to check and see if it's actually hooked up to power inside the
Nav Pod.

I'm a bit embarased to ask the location of the autopilot 'on-off' power
switch. Can't seem to locate it! I have hull # 195, built in 1995.
