[C320-list] CAT 320 LIST: Gas Lifts, port cockpit main locker cover

I want to install gas lifts to hold up the port cockpit cover (hinged seat lid).  I'm planning on using the Associated Spring Raymond SPI Model  GSNI-2300-40 (40 lbs, 12" compressed, 8 inch stroke, 2 each ) gas lifts which are, I think, the same as the Catalina factory uses.

I have Hull #324, 1996.  Later C320's apparently include these gas lifts from the factory.

Before I start drilling holes in the cockpit locker cover/seat, can someone who has these installed give me an accurate measurement on the correct position of the mounting holes for the brackets in the locker cover (referred to the top edge and side edge of the cover or some other reference point?  And/or photos of the installed units?
