Not that this may be much help but last year when I changed the fuel filters I went through the bleeding process as everyone does with the primary filter pump and couldn't get her to start. The next day I went down and hit the start button just gor kicks. She sputtered and coughed and fired to life. My dock neighbor experienced the same thing.

</div>Last week I noticed a strong smell of diesel which turned out to be a leak around the fuel filter cartridge. I replaced the o ring on the cartridge, bleed the cartridge and the engine started fine, but the leak was still there and seemed to be coming from the collar at the top. So I repeated the process making sure the filter and cartridge had a tight fit and did not over tighten the collar. I repeated the bleed process of the cartridge loosening the nut and using the pump handle until diesel fuel oozed out. This time the engine would not start. I went through e bleeding process 3 times and finally gave up. I assume air got in down stream to the injectors but don't know how to bleed the rest of the system.

Can anyone provide info. on how to bleed from the pump o the injectors and is this a two person job?

why did the cartridge continue to leak even after replacing the o ring and not over tightening the collar?

Thanks,
