I used the Gorilla brand duct tape that holds up really good. I always wondered if I was missing a cap since it really appears that there should be one.From reading this it looks like they are all open. I guess I have another thing to do on my to do list...fabricate something.

The birds really like to make a nest in the middle of the boom so I keep a rag stuffed in the hole and the problem is solved. The problem is that when I furl and unfurl the main, the lines grab the rag and pull it inside the boom. I want to fabricate a cover of some sort to block the opening but can't come up with a reasonable method. Has anyone done this with success?
