[C320-list] Water Pump

I believe I left the water pump on about a week ago and must have had a leaky faucet so while I was gone it emptied my entire water tank. Now the pump when turned on will not suck the water out of the tank. Does the pump need to be primed when it ran dry?  I may have just burned the entire unit out since it was running for sometime pumping nothing. Let me know your thoughts.
