[C320-list] Yanmar issue

Question for the knowledgeable.   The Yanmar has de compressors for each cylinder. Would an open de compressor give the effect described? I have started mine quite often in temperatures only slightly above freezing more than once at the beginning and end of our season. Never had the slightest issue. It started promptly every time.

Sounds like it could be a stuck valves. Could also be a problem with a crack head or a bad head gasket.

Unless you have the right tools and and know how to take apart the top end of the engine you might consider calling the mechanic at this point.

With exhaust coming out the air intake it sounds as if there is an air intake
valve not closing completely on the compression stroke. This would also result
in difficult starting. My engine has a thousand hours on it and even around zero
degrees C; 32 degrees F it starts fairly easily.CheersJohnM1999#574
