 Not sure how long they are supposed to last but mine quit a year ago on my 2008 boat.

As an fyi, sailboatowners.com has some on clearance for $125.

I just had a Jabsco mascerator pump fail after about one year of service. Is 
that about all you can expect? Is there a more robust brand?
