John,
Is the length of your whisker pole for a 155 larger than the J measurement? If so what is the penalty for the longer pole?

I run a 155 in competition and in certain points of sail we place the pole aft
of the forward lowers. We are aware of the potential issues and would not do
this for non competition sailing.
We have not experienced any problems to date.

concerned that if the pole and stay are rubbing, it will eat through the pole
quickly. I have an adjustable ring, but couldn’t move the ring high enough to
avoid those stays. Do I just need to get the clew further forward? How about
running the jib sheets below the lifelines? Please share your experience.
