Thanks Denny - Good article.
Andrew - It sounds like I just need to sheet out, and the tape is a good idea. I was trying to fly the jib in light air with chop, and couldn’t keep the pole forward. Probably needed a little more pressure. Good to see you and Dawn Treader in Holland again. I noticed you out the last two Wednesday nights. Are you planning to race? Northwind is at Yacht Basin and I am crewing on another boat.
Everyone - Thanks for the quick responses. Love this group.

Here's a pretty good write-up, if the link comes through:

If it doesn't, you might google "whisker pole instructions" to find it. Here's a picture that may also be helpful:

Chuck,
For my rig the whisker pole goes from the pad-eye on the mast to the clew of the 155 genny. Jib sheets are run as normally done. The whisker pole is kept just ahead of the shrouds. I have put several wraps of a thick tape on the Whisker Pole just in case it rubs on the shrouds - the tape takes the damage instead of the pole and shrouds.
If you want, I can show my set up in person at Anchorage Marina.
Best Regards,
Andrew Santangelo

I have an adjustable ring, but couldn’t move the ring high enough to avoid those stays. Do I just need to get the clew further forward? How about running the jib sheets below the lifelines? Please share your experience.
