Use the Goretex stuffing at eMarineInc.com. & you will no longer have a wet bilge. If  your shaft is 1" the size is usually 3/16". I just changed mine & had a lot of trouble removing the stuffing with a pick & could not remove the last ring. I then used a sheet rock screw & found it much easier to use this method for removal.

I am thinking of repacking my stuffing box while I’m still on the
hard this year. I have a 1999 C320, hull #570.
Can anyone tell me the correct
size and recommended type of packing?
