[C320-list] 2 coats of VC17.

Hi Marek.

I had the Interprotect applied by the dealer when the boat was delivered by
Catalina. There is minimal "orange peel" and the hull appears to be in
great shape. I just pressure wash off at haul out and recoat with VC 17
each spring.

I have applied Interprotect to a previous much older boat when I stripped
off the ablative coating as part of a refurbishment, and yes it is a PITA.
Stripping the old powder coat back to the fiberglass is much worse though.
Having said that when I applied Interprotect with care in exactly the
conditions described by Interlux I also achieved little "orange peel". I
have seen some pretty bad applications when owners tried shortcuts or
conditions changed before full drying.

Have a great season

Jerry,
Thank you for taking time to respond.
It turns out 10min overcoat time specified by Interlux is misleading.
I tried again today (2 days since first coat) and found it was much better
- the first coat would still show signs of penetration, but only after 5-6
strokes of the roller, as opposed to 2 on the same day. I average 3 strokes
to apply the paint, so it was doable today.
How did your Interprotect turn out - did you get much "orange peel" texture?
I like the idea, but multiple coats (including under the pads) and mixing
appropriate amount for each layer is a major PITA. This and "orange peel"
made me to pass on this option. At least for now...
Thanks again.
Marek
