[C320-list] Main Sail Mast Furler

On our Seldon rig letting the boom end up a couple of feet makes all the difference when stowing. I assume that lets the sail foot "candy cane" and not wrap over itself.
Furling and deploying hardly need a winch

Hi Steve, We also have an in mast furler and have yet to get it deploy and retract as easy as I think it should and as others do. There apparently desirable boom positioning required as others have reported here. I also found there is one correct way to hook on the foot and at least one wrong way. The wrong way makes for too large a wrap so have a look at that especial as you mention this is a recent occurrence.

Our manual on 765 has a bit of mast furling detail and Charleston has answered a few questions.

I am the original owner of Hull S-980 which was equipped with a Main Sail Mast Furler. Over the past year it has become somewhat difficult to deploy and especially difficult to furl. Low speed and 8" handle on winch definitely
required plus a lot of effort and sweat. I could not find anything in my
Owner's Manuals regarding the furler thus no information on maintenance. Would greatly appreciate advice.

Much thanks to all the participants in this forum. I have been sailing for 40+ years but always learning from this resource.

[C320-list] fresh water pump

Mine too. Dry as a bone. I suspect that the water is leaking back thru the pump towards the tanks. I am due for a replacement anyway.
