Ours was the fresh water part. Easy replacement. Although we have only turned the breaker on once or twice since we installed it 2 years ago.

When my water heater started leaking, it was from the forward lower corner.
When I removed the tank I discovered that I also had a small antifreeze
leak. It really doesn't matter which it is since you still have to replace
the tank. So far, I have put the replacement on my long term list and have
not really missed it. I put a hose bypass at the engine and completely
removed the old hoses from the engine as they were also suspect.
