[C320-list] Rig C320 for Asyn Spinaker

I did the exact same thing that Scott did with the Harken T2 blocks. I also made long continuous loups using low stretch Spectra line. These worked really slick for the Assym. You can see pictures of these in my owners photos on the C320IA site (they are the black harken blocks attached to the blue Spectra long loups). I also didn’t really use the Assym very much as I am usually the only one sailing the boat when we have a crowd on board. I really need to learn to delegate more!

Rather than using the included mounting line, I used a longer piece of low stretch line so that I would have a longer loop. I also ran the several loops through a piece of hollow cover (see http://www.apsltd.com/line/cover-only/cover-only-yale.html) so that the final loop is easier to handle and very smooth. The end result is a lightweight non-metal composite block on the end of a fairly long loop. Then I just cow-hitch the whole thing to the aft cleats. The soft mount does not scratch the cleats, and the block is light enough that it doesn't damage the deck. I made three of these and use one on the bail of the anchor roller for the tack line.

My experience with Asyms has been on boats that had a toe rail with plenty of places to sheet the Spinnaker with clip-on snatch blocks. My guess is that, without installing some custom track or toe rail, I'll need to use the aft dock line cleats.
