You are correct Rick. I looked at the best viewing location to please the better half. The thought was the starboard head wall.

With your information I will put forward the idea to MagicMoment's Board of Governance.

Thanks for the details

I approached the TV location by first seeking the very best viewing location in the main cabin and then addressed mounting and wiring issues.

The TV now faces the forward bulkheads and can be seen by anyone seated in the main cabin on either side of the table, or from the V-berth (our '95 model has removable bulkhead panels). I attached an instrument pivot arm mount on the narrow wooden vertical panel (bulkhead?) just aft of the flip down electrical panel. I installed a shelf to that instrument mount upon which rests the TV on its cabinet pedestal. I used threaded rods extending from that shelf up to the cup holder shelf to stabilize the TV shelf and then clamped the back of the TV to the threaded rods. My wife created a blue dust hood that can be placed on the TV so the TV does not detract from the aesthetics from either the galley or from the main cabin sides.

I use a dedicated TV & accessory power strip that is also located near to a 12v aux. outlet I installed to provide low wattage invertor power and 12v power to charge phones, etc. when at anchor. It does not take much invertor power to run a 22 inch LED TV, or even a Blue Ray player.

> Since I do not have a TV antenna on my mast, I solved the signal strength issue for HD by installing a $35 home style TV antenna DB signal booster/amp on my older style circular sail boat antenna that I raise with the main halyard. The amp on the antenna is connected to the TV with a coax cable that powers the amp and brings the signal down to the signal booster power supply junction located on narrow shelf bulkhead adjacent to the dockside powered GFI outlet. The antenna signal booster and HDTV can be powered by the low wattage invertor when at anchor by simply plugging the TV accessory power strip into the invertor instead of the dockside powered outlet. I ran a coax segment from the amp power supply junction box (that is also attached via coax to the TV) by running the shorter coax cable segment under the cabinet trim to reach near end of the cabinet and the bulkhead where the bread box is located, so the longer run of coax cable from the antenna can easily be attached to that shorter cable segment to the power/signal supply junction whenever I run the antenna & signal booster up the mast. As a result, in the Western Basin of Lake Erie Islands area, I can locate a large number of digital TV signals from Toledo, Cleveland, Detroit and even Windsor Canada, depending on the weather.

The system has a subwoofer that I located under the nav. station while the two speakers are located on the opposing port and starboard shelfs (via a cable run inside the wire chase under the liner to bring the speaker cable to the starboard side shelf). Since the digital TV signals may carry data for multichannel digital sound systems, for $50 to $60, the Logitech game sound system is a bargain for enhancing HDTV sound, not to mention how well it serves when playing CDs on the Blue-Ray player or connected to your phone or other digital music players.
