[C320-list] Recent traffic

Maryland does not have personal property tax so we are free from that demon.

Over the years the marinas have raised rates for annual/seasonal slipholders and also for transients. Many marinas charge the equivalent of a hotel room for a slip and require two or three nights for a reservation, especially on weekends and holidays. Many people cannot pay those prices and while many choose to anchor out, doing this with children is even harder if there is no way to get off the boat and stretch legs.

Speaking of children on boats, I see very few in the marina where my boat is docked. Pictures of cruise groups show primarily gray-haired folks on boats. If families are not on boats, children will not experience the joy of boats.

Today's younger people may have huge burdens for college loans and that is not conducive to buying a boat unless it is a kayak or a canoe.

I believe that the cost of boating has become so high that it is not affordable.
