At my sail club on the Ottawa River (Canada) we have @500 slips and they
remain full, although the waiting list is not what it once was. Max boat
length is 36 feet, and there are also a hundred dry-sail boats. The
executive has noted a serious slide in the demographic, with the membership
aging. As a result, the 25% membership fee reduction offered to 65+ has been
replaced by a 25% reduction for families under 35 with at least one child.
This in an attempt to lower the median member age.
