When we purchased Wonky Dog her blower switch was so badly corroded it
wouldn't budge. If you blew that breaker I suspect it was the switch and
not your blower. If you pull the engine pod out you can short the blower
wire to the hot wire to see if you still have a good blower. I suspect
your blower was never run and is fine. If the blower is shot you will
probably trip the circuit again. If it's working you will know...the
blowers are pretty noisy.
Lots of great discussions on this forum about the pros and con of running
your blower. Let's call that the great why do we have blowers on diesel
boats debate. Search for those articles and form your own opinion based on
your personal preferences. I ended up replacing the switch and plan to
move the blower over to the hot side of the ignition so I can run the
blower with the engine off and without the annoying low oil pressure
alarm as a winter project.
