[C320-list] Impeller housing leak.

Worth shopping around for. We got a new water pump (3GM) through Merri-Mar
Yacht Basin in Newburyport, MA for $280. Others on this list (not local)
have purchased one through him and had it shipped.

So, the prices may vary a lot, so worth looking around.

Subject: [C320-list] Impeller housing leak.

RE: Yanmar 3YM30

It appears I have a leak in the impeller housing inlet hose bib. It appears
a rust hole has developed. At first I thought it was a leak in the lower
outlet hose (with pressure release valve) which connects with the outlet
side of the impeller. However, I replaced this hose and the leak persisted.
Upon close inspection I think it is above the hose connection in the metal
and just runs down the hose.

I tried to purchase a new impeller housing (it is a separate part) but
Yanmar does not sell it separately. This part is just one part of the sea
water-pump assembly and they want over $500 for it.

The questions: is it possible for this part to rust to the point of leaking?
If so can this hole be welded or repaired in some way? Does anyone know if
this part can be purchased separately? Is there a source for good used
parts?

Thanks,
