[C320-list] Lewmar port leaks

Kinda new to the 320, so recognize this is a newbie opinion.

The old port design really was kinda... dumb. Putting that seam on the
sides of the frame really was asking for eventual trouble. Do you
actually know where the moisture is coming from? If it is the outer frame
I would reccomended at a minimum pulling the portlight, completely and
thoroughly cleaning the frame and then rebedding the portlight with Bed It
brand butyl tape. If you aren't sure you can mess around with replacing
orings and seals on the old port light, For my money and time, it was
easier to buy a new portlight for $200 and not have to hassle with trying
to rejuvenate an old poorly designed portlight. The new portlight design
puts the seam on the bottom of the window, and it looks so nice compared to
the old ones. I will replace the other three cabin top portlights this
fall once the boat is on the hard. Funny thing, if you multiply the number
of cabin top windows by $200 and add the butyl tape it comes out to about a
thousand dollars after tax...I guess the old saying is actually true.

Also, since the cabin top has balsa core, you really need to check and see
what is going in the cut out for the portlight, a pint of water coming
through seems like a lot to me.

Just my 0.02.
