[C320-list] Traveling to DC-Annapolis area - tips welcome

Hi Tony, I'd be happy to take you and your friend day-sailing on the Bay while you're in the area.  My 1993 C320, Whoosh, is at Herrington Harbour North in Deale, MD.  Unfortunately, I can't do an overnight because I have an appt on Aug 3rd at 10 am and then racing Wed evening.  Deale is about a 45-minute drive from DC, a straight shot out Rt. 4 East (Pennsylvania Ave to the Bristol/Deale Exit).  In a day, we could go from Herrington Harbour across the Bay to Knapps Narrows for lunch and back.  The other option is going north to the West/Rhode River for lunch and back. Annapolis and St. Michaels are too far for a day sail.

Greetings fellow 320’er:

I have a posting of a more social nature.  I will be attending a week long meeting in Washington DC the first week of August.  Other than a week or two in the keys or BVI’s, all of my sailing has been on inland lakes.  Therefore,  I feel that I just can’t pass up the opportunity to take a day off (flexible meeting) and sample a bit of what it’s like to sail out on bigger water.  

Looking for day-sail charter recommendations.  I’m thinking a train ride over to Annapolis would be my best bet and I’m assuming public transportation will be good in getting me both ways.  Though I’m also not opposed to renting a car if that will get me to a marina quicker and out on the water.  If you know of other areas close to DC, please feel free to share some advice.

Anyone in that area that can provide any pointers?  It will most likely be just me and a work colleague of mine… probably mid-week, like Tues-Wed Aug 2-3.   Thanks in advance for any advice.
