Dean:

You might try using some Liquid Wrench penetrating oil to break them free. Soak the threads good and let sit for a few hours then repeat. Work the turnbuckle back and forth to break it free. Continue to apply the oil even after it loosens up.

You can also use heat to expand the turnbuckle away from the bolts. Do this along with the penetrating oil not as a substitute for the oil and only if you are comfortable doing it.
