Thanks.  I can do that but as it has aways been a fresh water boat with less than 1000 hours on the engine and used if lucky 6 months a year it has not suffered corrosion like the salt water boats, but still could be an issue I guess.

My first thought would be to check and clean all the connections in the
various cables that make up the starting circuit, including the cables on to
the battery.
