I am replacing a damaged engine instrument pod and when I removed it from the boat i was unable to remove the pull-to-stop cable - I was able to get the T-handle off but couldn't further dismantle it so it would pull through the hole in the pod; in the end i cut a slot in the already damaged pod and slid the cable out that way.
So I am wondering how it is supposed to come apart - have I missed something or simply not applied enough force to the wrench (I was worried the cable would twist and buckle) , or do I need to remove it entirely and fit a new one.
If so, can anyone tell me the specification - its to fit a 3GM30 engine on a 1996 320.
