[C320-list] prop shaft coupler removal tool

Allan,

Thanks. I'm not sure whether the cutless bearing will need to be replaced, or not, until we haul the boat. But I do want to replace the stuffing box/rubber boot which are aging. I will probably just buy the removal tool; it isn't very expensive.

Sorry but I can't answer that with certainty as I never used the thing. It was donated to the Club by a previous member and I don't recall anyone using it since the donation. No harm in trying though - you are out only the shipping cost! However, if you are only using the shaft coupler removal tool and not the prop puller and cutlass bearing removal tool, the cost of shipping just the shaft coupler removal tool may exceed the cost of buying a new one. We generally ship all 3 parts together.

Dave, Allan Field is the one to answer your questions, and Bruce Stump is to be the new custodian of the loaner tools. However, I can state with some level of confidence that the tool will work on our vintage boats. The shafts are all 1" and that seems to be the controlling factor.

Does anyone know if the shaft coupler removal tool listed in the Association's US toolbox will work on a 320 with a Perkins engine/Hurth transmission? The tool appears to be the one shown on the CatalinaDirect website which indicates it can be used on a Universal or Yanmar but doesn't mention Perkins.
