Excellent advice from Art Harden. We'll spend a week and a half or two on the hook or a mooring and never use the refrigeration at all. Two pieces of dry ice, about the size of a large book each, insulated with real ice, will last the entire trip.

Another consideration is dry ice. It keeps things even colder and no drainage. Just don't put anything directly against the dry ice and it will freeze.
