[C320-list] Marelon seacock problem

What is interesting (I just learned it reading West Marine's detailed item description) is that the little half-circle handled plug (removable) located over the screw of the handle is meant to be an emergency thru hull plug that can be inserted into the thru hull from the outside (so that the valve can be disassembled or replaced if needed while the boat is in the water).  Granted....this means someone has to take a swim!

The little plug from the valve handle has a small o-ring when you pull it out which obviously (now that I understand its intent) is the seal mechanism when inserted. I actually pulled one of these plugs out of one of my valves today wondering what the o-ring did.
