[C320-list] Traveler cleat

I bought the 1 1/4” from Catalina Direct: https://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm/product/1771/midship--mooring-cleat-stainless-1-14-track.cfm. Beautifully made and works well. I use it for dock spring lines so only have one. I keep it in an aft locker when underway for the reasons noted. It can rattle on the track at the dock under variable winds as the dock lines move.

I use one removable track cleat on each side for spring lines, hanging fenders in transient slips, tying up to the fuel/pumpout dock, etc - incredibly more useful than fixed cleats and no drilling. I bought mine at West Marine and they are full-size as far as I can tell, sufficient for a standard dock line. We remove them when sailing because the jib sheets have gotten caught around them more than once, plus they are tripping hazards and uncomfortable for the racers sitting on the rail. When we use them for spring lines, they are both all the way forward, and if we need to ease the line, we move the cleat aft. Since they are expensive, we remove them in quiet waters before the boat moves out of the slip and put them back just before we get back to the slip and store them in the cockpit line bags.
