[C320-list] Interior varnish

We used Minwax "Wipe on Poly" in satin for the companionway steps. That was maybe 4-5 years ago and they still look great. Directions are to wipe on with a cloth. 2-3 hrs between coats.

I read on the Catalina Directs site that from 2001 - 2007 a semi-gloss varnish finish was used for the interior finish. I am hoping to re-varnish the companion way steps but the finish does not appear to be semi-gloss (is original). Does anyone have any comments/suggestions?
