I was interested in the discussion recently in powered ventilation for our diesel powered boats. Some folks have removed the blowers installed in their boats. I have been conducting some research and cannot find a definitive answer on MECHANICAL VENTILATION NOT REQUIRED. I have removed the fuel tank on my boat for testing and based on recent discussion am considering not replacing the air vent hoses to the engine compartment. What affect will this have on future surveys? I would like to eliminate the hoses and fan but don’t want to find out later that it won’t pass a survey.
