I like leaving the blower and tubes in as well. I run the blower not only to help remove odor but engine heat as well in the summer. It does seem to help.

I too like having air going to my engine. I replaced my flimsy and mouldy white tubes with strong blue tubing. I would have to go back a ways in my records to get a brand name. This tubing isn’t cheap but it is strong and mound resistant. This tube tucked into the upper crevasse of my aft lockers with a friction fit making it quite neat. I can load thinks in these lockers now and not worry about crushing this tube. The original was also well crushed before replacing. My Cdn nickel’s worth.

I have been conducting some research and cannot find a definitive answer on MECHANICAL VENTILATION NOT REQUIRED. I have removed the fuel tank on my boat for testing and based on recent discussion am considering not replacing the air vent hoses to the engine compartment. What affect will this have on future surveys? I would like to eliminate the hoses and fan but don’t want to find out later that it won’t pass a survey.
