The pump saver screen-filter on the shower pump is NOT a great solution and it’s a PIA to get to.
You can make life a little easier if you take one of those flat nylon scrubby pads for washing dishes, cut a 1” by 2” piece and roll lengthwise, then stuff the roll into the show sump drain intake. It will catch all the normal crap from the shower BEFORE it gets to the pump-saver filter. Replace the pad every dozen or so showers or whenever you clean the head.

I also like to put one of the solid, white, slow dissolving toilet tank tabs in the sump. This sanitizes the sump water below the pumps ability to remove it. You could use the blue kind but I don’t need that much excitement in my life.
