[C320-list] Basic hot water heater and charging question

If you are curious.  The hoses from the engine to the water heater attach
at the 'back' of the heater, which is opposite of where the domestic water
connections are.  You are unlikely to see those easy but if you are curious
you can use a mirror from your local auto parts store to get a good look.
You can also get a look at the hoses by removing the cubby hole shelf below
the oven...the one most of us probably put a fire extinguisher in.   The
hoses pass through that space on their way to the heater.

As far as your alternator...

You will need to figure out exactly what kind of alternator you have and
also assuming there is an external smart regulator you will want to find
out exactly how that is set up.  If it is really cutting out after 30
minutes it could be that you are exceeding some sort of temperature limit,
or that the belt manager is not quite set up right.
