Probably the inspection plate for the emergency tiller is leaking with
the water running forward leaving the aft compartment dry. It is a
frequent source of leaks into the steering compartment.

After a couple of days of heavy rain I noticed that there was a lot of water under the floor at the companionway. The water level was high enough at the tranny area. The boat sat lower on the stern therefore the bilge was totally dry. I looked for stains but nothing. The aft area near the gas tank and steering was dry. I cannot find the source of entry. I plan to use vegetable die and pour the coloured water around the cockpit, doing one side and later the other side with a different colour of dye. I am totally stumped by the volume and no water stains.
