[C320-list] Crack in stringer below compression post

I have developed a crack in the stringer below the compression post. 

Is this a structural issue? Does the post sit on steel support or is it just a fibreglass stringer. 

If this is a structural issue will Catalina cover the cost? 

Is there a structural diagram available? 

Anyone fix this themselves? Any steps or advise would be appreciated. 

Is this a safety concern and is my sailing season over?
