[C320-list] C320-list Digest, Vol 3363, Issue 1

Hi Sara:

After I finish and test the autopilot, probably by Monday or so due to bad weather, I’ll give you a step by step of what I did. Some of this stuff seems tricky if you haven’t done it before, but it’s really not difficult if you can do basic things with a drill and hand jigsaw.

Part of the problem is that the Raymarine manual is disjointed and incomplete. When you’re doing a project for the first time and don’t have clear instructions, you end up with a lot of trial and error.

I’ll be in touch.

Jack,
I’ve had my EV 100 in the box for a year now and I am anxious to get it installed. Would love to hear what you end up doing as I am trying to decide where to put the sensor unit control head and everything else. There’s an earlier thread in which one person put one of the controls in the starboard hanging locker.

Let us know what you decide.

The controls are easy to access when seated at the helm. Plenty of room in the aft lazaret, with access from topside or through aft berth cabin access port, to maneuver in that space for equipment installation in that location. The same location on the starboard side is limited with installed fuel/water fill lines, manual bilge pump and fuel tank all make for a tight work space. Our Raymarine wind, depth and speed pod is mounted on binnacle and are easily readable when seated at the helm.
