[C320-list] Domestic fresh water pump leak

It appears I have a slow drip leak from the freshwater pump (Shurflo 
2088-423-244, 2.8 gph, 45 psi) which is located on my boat under and to 
the left of the galley sink.  It is not obvious, however, exactly where 
the leak is coming from in the pump, but the bottom of the pump is wet 
and is dripping onto the floor of the undersink compartment.

Like several other posts discuss, the end problem is that the pump 
cycles on and off every few minutes.

Does anyone have prior experience with this problem and knows where in 
the pump this is likely originating?  What is the group experience, if 
any, in rebuilding this pump?

Certainly, replacing the pump (original from 1996) is an alternative.  
Any experience with what fits well as a replacement?
