About the Yanmar...

Jack is right, the Yanmar wiring harness on the 3GM30F is a design flaw in
an otherwise brilliantly simplistic workhorse.   Once moisture finds it's
way into the wiring it wicks up underneath the insulation and destroys it
for about an inch or so.   No amount of cleaning the ring terminal or other
connector will solve the problem.  Best to just cut the wire at both ends
and reterminate a new tinned wire and run it from the eurostrip to the
other connector.   For the power and ground wires go one size bigger in
gauge if you can.  For the sending wires it's really not necessary to go
any bigger.

I have a nice picture of the engine wiring for Wonky Dog that I will load
up to my Album soon.   It’s a little different than the factory
installation but gives a really good idea of what goes where.   There are a
few diagrams there already but I have not loaded this one yet.   The
various manuals for the engine and also for the C320 are a bit confusing
and often not quite correct as Catalina somewhat customized the wiring from
the harness extension to the engine pod.  I'm not sure why they didn't
include the proper wiring diagram for some hulls...maybe I just got a bad
manual from the PO.
