[C320-list] Oil Filter for Perkins M30 Engine?

I have used a FRAM PH2951 oil filter since I bought my 1994 boat based on guidance from association members.  However, recently I've read a good bit of reviews that say Fram filters are junk now (although I've used them all my life without incident). So, I wanted to use a better filter.
I believe I read that others were using NAPA Gold 1348 oil filters.  I went to my local NAPA store today and they said NAPA 1348 was not the cross-reference for FRAM PH2951 that I had been using.  Instead, they said that NAPA Gold 1394 is the cross-reference. 
The NAPA 1394 is smaller in outer diameter and height than the NAPA 1348 recommended by others. 
As an aside, I inherited some Microgard MGL51394 oil filters from the previous owner.  It is more like the smaller size of the NAPA 1394 filter that the store says is the cross-reference for FRAM PH2951. 
Can any of you others with older boats and Perkins M30 engines tell me what oil filter you use (without actually getting a Perkins filter)?
