I would use a product like hydrotek marine plywood.  It will be made only with hardwoods and will have no voids, even in interior layers.  It will also have more layers, probably 13.  I also recommend that you seal the underside with a couple of coats of Smith penetrating epoxy for even more moisture protection. Bruce Heyman(949) 289 8400
