I have been unable to locate a 2 micron filter for the secondary on my Perkins M30.
Currently using a 10 micron NAPA 3386 fuel filter as the secondary.
Fram 3627 fuel filter - unable to determine micron size for use as secondary.
The secondary filter Perkins 4429491 (was 130366020) my marina told me is 24 microns.
I would like to have a 10 micron primary Racor filter and a 2 micron secondary.
But cannot identify 2 micron secondary.

Just to add my two cents worth! I believe the Racor filter is hugely over-specified for a sail boat. As I recall it is designed to cope with fuel flows of something like 15 gallons per hour.
I don't know but I guess that means as it starts to clog it will pass an adequate fuel flow for a C320 engine for a lot longer than a filter that was designed for a smaller flow rate?
Would his affect the time between replacements in relation to the manufacturers recommendation which would have to assume full flow rate?
Just a thought

Given that I have gotten 6 years out of a 10 micron primary, I couldn’t see going to anything larger than that. Given that my secondary filter was absolutely pristine, I’m doubtful if it is much smaller than 10 micron. I believe Jeff Hare put out a discussion of the pros and cons of different size Racor elements not long ago. As I recall, the significance of it was that given the much larger size of the Racor to the secondary filter, to avoid clogging up the whole works, he advocated putting the smaller micron size on the primary filter, and using the same or slightly larger micron size on the secondary…….I’m sure the thread is in the archives.
