A 33' luff is about 10' too short. You may want to poke around online sail lofts for a Catalina 320 and see they spec the luff at 43.66'. There are also standard sized gennakers available that will work quite well, although one built for the boat is probably best. One such site: http://fxsails.com/quoter/selectboat.php

I am looking to buy a used cruising spinnaker to play with. Of course not buying new I am not going to get a perfect fit. 

What do you experienced folks think about one with a 33’ luff and 20’ foot? Big enough to have a little fun with it or won’t work well?
