[C320-list] Electric fuel pump for Yanmar

Some folks recommend not using Teflon tape in a diesel fuel line because it
can break down and send tiny bits of Teflon into the fuel line.

When I replaced my Racor a while back I bought diesel-resistant pipe dope,
either at Autozone or Home Depot (I don't recall which). It goes on as a
paste and doesn't risk sending little bits into the injectors or injector
pump later. It wasn't expensive, and the smallest container you can buy is
a lifetime supply.

Teflon tape is the best to use. Just make sure you wrap the tape around the
threads so that the end of the tape is not going against the direction of
rotation when screwing the parts together.

But the pipe thread to hose barb fittings that screw into the pump body are
a hardware store item, and you can probably get a fitting that adapts to
whatever size hose you need at your local hardware or Home Depot. Just
remember to use a diesel-fuel resistant thread sealant when you screw the
pipe thread side of the fitting into the pump, or you'll have a persistent
slow drip. (Don't ask me how I know this.)

fuel lines, etc,). It sounds like a good bleeding assist and is also good
since it allows free fuel flow even if turned off. However, it probably
wouldn't be a good option to polish your fuel due to the low flow rate (at
typical 15 gph). A suggestion though .... install it without the supplied
inline fuel filter? I'm thinking you don't want to interject another
potential "blockage point" in addition to your Racor and engine filters.
Therefore, you would need another barbed inlet fitting. Dave Hupe
