[C320-list] linear drive

I’m already down to installing the arm and found it was about an inch and a half too long…made my own plate out of some scrap stainless that I had left over from making some backing plates on our last boat. That worked out well. How much trouble did you have drilling the rudder post?

Hi Chris,It was a pretty straightforward project.  I have all the details on how to make it work.Used the Edson one but slightly modified it.  The whole system works like a dream If you're thinking of doing it, I'll get you all the details. Even have a CAD file for the reinforcing plate that any machine shop can whip up for you.  Several other owners have done this already.Jeff

(always a dangerous thing …) So I went climbing inside the port  stern locker today as it rained and found what I think is a good location for installing a Racor 500 filter.The fuel line leaves the tank on my boat, reaches a shutoff valve and then snakes into the passage under the aft cabin to the Yanmar. On my boat, I can move some cables and hoses inside the locker and clear a space just to starboard of the access door that goes into the aft cabin. Right there, I can bolt the 500 to the bulkhead and have enough clearance both to change the filter on top and bleed off any water on the bottom.The spot is a little above the tank, which should be a good thing because I shouldn’t have to use the shutoff valve when I change filters. Just climb down into the locker and go at it. The fuel lines can be secure and out of the way along the bulkhead.In theory, I should also be able to reach the filter from the aft cabin, although my wife would kill me if I got diesel on the bedding.Any flaws in my plan?
