Hi David:

Some people use wax to make a pattern mold from good nonskid. Then you place thickened gelcoat in the damaged area and press the mold over it. The gelcoat won’t stick to the wax. 

I’ve never done it, but I have spoken to people who have. It sounds like something you could try yourself.
