[C320-list] Cabin interior cushions

We used thick memory foam in the aft cabin and V berth, then brought the pieces to a seamstress to make good cloth coverings for a couple of hundred dollars. We didn’t bother with Sunbrella because, most of the time, they’re made up as beds anyway.

Our puzzle is that the port settee cushion is worn, but everything else is fine (in blue!). The Catalina store only wants to sell a complete set for big bucks. For now, we have a blue slip cover over it.

Just wrapping up a vberth cushion project. We "upgraded" to a slightly
thicker foam (5”) and we are layering UHD polyurethane foam of varying
firmness to get just the right support for us. Figure about $800 for
material using high end foam and high end sunbrella upholstery fabric. If
you DIY, figure another $1000 for tools (aka industrial sewing machine).
Not worth the tool investment for one project but rapidly pays for itself
if you have more than one project. Learning curve is medium. Took me
about 10 hours to template and cut foam. 5 hours to sew the first case.
About 2 hours to sew the second. I'll get some photos up when the project
is complete. Aft cushions are a future project and will be much easier to
template, cut, and sew.

Good luck

Troy
