Hi Ken,

The write-up linked from this page: https://c320.org/filemgmt/viewcat.php?cid=5

The Yanmar part number for the replacement pump is 129301-52020. You also need a new gasket (Yanmar 121520-01851).

You an get after-market parts for about $40 and Yanmar OEM parts for about $120. Given that the pump has been working fine for almost 30 years and I don’t intend to replace it again, I bought the OEM part.

I also replaced the bolts that attach the fuel lines (Yanmar 105582-59150). That’s definitely not normally necessary, but in my case, I discovered that the cause of an ongoing tiny fuel leak was where one of the bolts had been overtightened and damaged the threads so replacing both for $10 seemed worth it while I was doing this project. Either way, you should replace the 8mm copper washers (2 on each side).

Hope that helps,

Ade.

I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks to Troy Dunn for writing up and posting the instructions for replacing the lift pump on the Yanmar 3GM30F. I replaced mine yesterday. It turned out to be a straightforward procedure, but I was glad to have reviewed Troy's write-up ahead of time. Removing the remains of the old gasket was time consuming but otherwise the replacement was quick and easy.

Thanks again,

Ade.
