That's exactly what I do.  We have brackish water where we keep the boat so I don't want to use that water because of the smell.  We keep a jug of fresh water by the head and use it as needed.

The water in our marina is dirty. I’d rather pump fresh water though instead. Can I just close the seacock and pour fresh water directly into the toilet? If so, are any modifications required?
