[C320-list] Holding tank vent

Yes, the hose is 3/4 coming off the tank but the fitting is 5/8 for some
reason.

On my boat, I removed the panel above the medicine cabinet to access the
hull/deck bolts (I had to replace a section of rub rail channel for some
Hurricane Ida damage), and could access the vent from there. But beware,
getting that panel out and back in is not an easy task, and on my boat is
complicated by wiring for a fluorescent light fixture and a 120V outlet.

I have a 1998, and the holding tank vent goes out the side of the hull.
That's the one I'm talking about.

The fitting seems smaller than 3/4 inch, which I think is the size of the
fitting on the tank, so I'm going to investigate making it larger.

I had a head system failure that cut short my spring trip after 130 miles --
along with other adventures such as getting hit by a warerspout and hitting
an uncharted shoal -- so I'm looking to rehab everything that needs fixing.

Jack,

Are you talking about the anti-siphon vent that's in the hoses behind the
medicine cabinet, or the vent from the holding tank?

On my 1995 model the vent hose goes from the holding tank up to a vent in
the side of the hull just below the deck. But I think I recall reading that
on newer models they re-routed the vent from the holding tank into the
lifeline stanchion nearest to the head, exiting though a hole in the
outboard side of the stanchion.

Great. Thanks all. Easier than I expected ... I think.

Anyone know where the hose for the holding tank vent disappears to? I've
been rehabbing my head system, and the thought just occurred to me that I
would like to install a larger vent.

>From what I could tell with a glance today, it seems to vanish into a black
hole behind and above the tank. I assume there is someone dismantling
involved in getting to the vent.
