Bill, I had to replace the fuel tank on my 1995 No. 232 last winter, and was able to slide the old fuel tank out from under the shelf that my a/c unit sits on. It took a fair amount of “boat yoga”, but it might save you some time if you can do the same.

I installed the 16k BTU Dometic Air Conditioner on the shelf that you remove to replace the fuel tank. Ok, PIA to disconnect cooling water hoses, condensate hose, thermostat wires, 110v power wires and the main ducting and removing the bolts mounting the unit to the shelf. But then I discovered that it wouldn't budget! The rubber (or synthetic rubber) soundproofing mat between the 64 pound Dometic unit and the shelf is "welded" to the shelf.
> As you know, there is not much room to work in the space. I have tried sawing underneath the Dometic to destroy the mat and have gotten rid of "some" of it. It is a lot of surface area, so I understand why the Dometic won't break free until more of the mat is removed.
